Ueland presents the important but little-known history of this influential commission, discussing its creation by the 1998 International Religious Freedom Act (IRFA), its non-partisan nature, and its successes over the years.
Ueland and Gross talk about the vital role that cross-agency collaboration can play within the U.S. government to advance the cause of international religious freedom. They also discuss the effectiveness of aiding and advocating for persecuted faith communities via local communities. Lastly, they turn their attention to the ongoing crisis affecting Christians in Nigeria – an area of focus for SPC’s current efforts.
