SPC President Steve Wagner and Renown Videographer Jordan Allott to Travel to Nigeria in Support of Persecuted Christians

In the past several years, more Christians have been martyred in Nigeria for their faith than in any other country. Driven by our mission to provide financial and practical assistance to the Christian Church in places where it faces persecution, the Board of Directors of SPC has determined that Nigeria will be a focus of our efforts in 2025.
SPC is preparing to travel to Nigeria with three objectives. First, we will develop relationships with local leaders of the Christian Church (which we define ecumenically, to include the Catholic, Orthodox and Reformed Churches), enriching our knowledge of the situation on the ground and forging collaborations to support the persecuted. In so doing, we will also identify specific projects for financing communities and families that are facing persecution. SPC takes its fiduciary responsibility to our donors very seriously, and will only undertake highly effective projects with partners we trust.
We are building on a solid foundation, having gained insight from dozens of experts in the past year. We invite you to watch our SPC Conversations for in-depth interviews on the persecution of Christians around the globe and specifically in Nigeria. Connecting with local church leaders at all levels will help us have meaningful impact for local Christian communities and families.

Second, we will chronicle the anti-Christian persecution in Nigeria to help Americans (and audiences around the world who follow us online) to appreciate the situation in that country. We plan to do so via interviews on the ground and video material that we will make available across our channels.

Accompanying SPC’s President will be Jordan Allott, internationally acclaimed documentary filmmaker and founder of In Altum Productions. Mr. Allott has filmed projects in over 35 countries, from China and Syria to Nigeria and Cuba, with themes ranging from Catholic spirituality to international human rights. His work has been seen on Fox News, EWTN, CNN International, Telemundo and Univision. Mr. Allott has previously worked with SPC, filming a documentary in Iraq and Lebanon.
Third, in our conversations with Nigerian Christian leaders, we will share information on similar past projects – in other countries and situations – which have been effective in protecting the Christian flock from further violence and harm.
To achieve these purposes, SPC plans to travel to Nigeria in March 2025 for 5 to 6 full days on the ground. Our team will be based in Abuja and take several trips to affected areas outside of the capital. We will provide occasional live coverage and frequent updates on what we uncover, the relationships we develop, and the stories of those we are seeking to help.

Please stay connected and consider making a contribution to ensure the success of this urgently needed initiative. Thank you for supporting our mission.
